Piper porphyrophyllum "Silver Black"

Write a review

Piper porphyrophyllum "Silver Black" is an amazing plant native to India. It has thin dark green leaves with pinkish silver veins. It is an amazing trailing vine. Coloration can be variable. It is a bit sensitive to root, but once rooted, it is a good grower. It is exceptionally rare in the USA. It prefers high humidity and moderate light. Moist Sphagnum moss is useful for rooting this species.

All of our cuttings have adventitious, aerial roots. Our rooted specimens will have at least a few active roots and will be established plants. Our plants are grown in high humidity in terrariums and greenhouses, therefore may need acclimation to the average home humidity / environment. Please contact us for acclimation information if you are not planning to use this plant in a terrarium, greenhouse, or humid room.
