Phyllobates bicolor "Uraba"
Line: JL Exotics
Phyllobates bicolor are found near the upper San Juan River Basin. These frogs are from Tesoros de Columbia. These frogs are very bold when adults and can do moderately well in groups, provided that the enclosure is large enough. It is recommended that no more than 2 go into a 10 gallon tank, 3 in a 20 gallon tank, and 4-5 in a 40 gallon tank. There can be some aggression and wrestling, but it is usually minor. Females will generally lay 5 to 15 eggs under leaf litter or a coconut hut with flat leaves or a petri dish underneath. The frogs will transport tadpoles if left alone. Additional information can be found, of course, through our complimentary Encyclopedia Database: DendroKnow Project.
