Paludarium Plant Package – Grower's Choice

Build a lush, layered paludarium without having to select every plant individually. The FrogDaddy Paludarium Plant Package is a grower's-choice collection designed specifically for tropical paludariums that combine terrestrial planting with a dedicated aquatic zone. Plant counts are scaled to common enclosure sizes, with a portion of each package reserved for true aquatic plants so the land and water sections can be planted together as a coordinated display.

Rather than simply choosing plants at random, FrogDaddy growers assemble each package with growth habit, mature size, color, texture, placement, moisture preference, and overall variety in mind. Packages typically combine terrestrial foliage plants, climbing and trailing species, epiphytes, accent plants, and aquatic species so multiple ecological zones can be planted from a single collection. Depending on availability and rarity tier, selections may include Marcgravia, Peperomia, Begonia, Selaginella, Gesneriads, miniature aroids, terrestrial and epiphytic foliage plants, orchids, occasional ferns, Anubias, Bucephalandra, Cryptocoryne, Rotala, Hydrocotyle, floating plants, and other FrogDaddy-grown paludarium species. These packages are specifically designed for paludariums with both terrestrial and aquatic planting areas. The aquatic selections are true aquarium or wet-zone plants chosen to complement the terrestrial portion of the enclosure. Approximately 20% of each package is aquatic, with the number of aquatic plants scaled by enclosure size.

Choose Your Enclosure Size

10 Gallon / 12×12×18 — 7 plants total

Designed for nano and smaller paludariums. Each package includes 1 aquatic plant and approximately 6 terrestrial or epiphytic plants. The terrestrial portion typically includes a mixture of vines or trailing plants, foliage plants, and occasional specialty selections such as orchids or ferns depending on the rarity tier and current inventory. The aquatic plant may be selected for submerged, floating, or wet-zone use depending on what best complements the rest of the package.

20 Gallon / 18×18×24 — 12 plants total

Our standard package for one of the most popular medium-sized tropical enclosures. Each package includes 2 aquatic plants and approximately 10 terrestrial or epiphytic plants. Expect a broad mixture of climbing, creeping, trailing, and foliage plants, with aquatic selections chosen to begin establishing the water section without sacrificing diversity above the waterline.

30–40 Gallon / 18×18×36 — 18 plants total

Built for larger paludariums requiring significantly more coverage and botanical variety. Each package includes 4 aquatic plants and approximately 14 terrestrial or epiphytic plants. These packages provide enough material to establish multiple foreground, midground, background, climbing, epiphytic, riparian, and aquatic zones throughout the enclosure.

55–75 Gallon / 36×18×36 — 25 plants total

Our largest standard Paludarium Plant Package, assembled for substantial tropical displays with meaningful land and water sections. Each package includes 6 aquatic plants and approximately 19 terrestrial or epiphytic plants. Expect a broad mixture of vines, foliage plants, specialty selections, and aquatic species chosen to create multiple layers of vegetation from the forest floor to the water column.

Plant counts are guaranteed. Individual plant categories are approximate and may be adjusted by our growers to provide the best package possible from current inventory.

Choose Your Rarity Tier

Bronze – Classic FrogDaddy Selection

Bronze is the foundation of the FrogDaddy plant package and offers the best overall value. Expect proven terrestrial and aquatic species selected for attractive foliage, varied growth habits, and dependable performance in tropical paludarium conditions. Bronze packages can still contain unusual plants—the emphasis is simply on building a healthy, diverse, well-balanced enclosure rather than maximizing rarity.

Silver – Uncommon Upgrade

Silver builds on the Bronze package with a greater emphasis on uncommon plants, distinctive foliage, unusual growth forms, and specialty FrogDaddy propagation stock. Both the terrestrial and aquatic portions of the package may include less commonly encountered material, while still maintaining enough practical, vigorous species to establish the enclosure effectively.

Gold – Premium & Rare Selection

Gold is our premium grower's-choice package, weighted heavily toward rare, uncommon, collector-grade, and specialty-propagated plants from the FrogDaddy collection. Expect greater representation from unusual Begonias, Gesneriads, miniature aroids, specialty vines, uncommon epiphytes, orchids, rare Bucephalandra, unusual Anubias, specialty aquatic plants, and other limited-production material when available.

Because rare plants are not always available as large rooted specimens, Gold packages may contain more divisions, cuttings, or smaller established plants than Bronze or Silver packages. The value is concentrated in rarity and diversity rather than simply physical plant size.

With or Without Bromeliad

Every size and rarity tier can be ordered with or without bromeliads. Selecting the bromeliad option adds bromeliads as part of the total plant count:

- 10 Gallon: 1 bromeliad

- 20 Gallon: 1 bromeliad

- 30–40 Gallon: 2 bromeliads

- 55–75 Gallon: 2 bromeliads

The aquatic plant count remains the same regardless of bromeliad selection.

Every Package Is Different

The plants pictured are actual examples of FrogDaddy plant packages, but the photographs are representative rather than exact assortments. Inventory changes continuously as plants grow, propagate, sell, and become available for division. Your package may contain some plants pictured—or none of them. Grower's choice allows us to use the healthiest and most interesting material available while creating a package with significantly greater botanical diversity than would be possible with a fixed species list.

Our goal is not to send twelve random plants, but rather to send twelve plants that make sense together in a paludarium.

A good paludarium package should provide different leaf shapes, colors, textures, mature sizes, moisture preferences, and growth behaviors so that plants can occupy different ecological and visual niches throughout the enclosure. That means the terrestrial portion should help establish the background, hardscape, forest floor, and epiphytic zones, while the aquatic portion adds compatible species for submerged, floating, or wet-edge placement.

All packages include plant identification information so you know what you received and can research the individual species as your paludarium develops.

Whether you're building your first planted water-and-land enclosure or adding botanical diversity to an established display, the FrogDaddy Paludarium Plant Package provides a simple way to create a layered, naturalistic ecosystem using plants selected by growers who work with these species every day.
