An expertly crafted blend of live mosses in a compressed brick, ready for reconstitution in distilled water or to be used as dry fragments on GeoForm Sticky Soil Terrarium Putty Walls directly or on top of BryoBase Adhesion Layer.
Lasts approximately 5-7 days in vac bag, but we recommend using it ASAP!
We recommend using this product in very high humidity environments. 80-90% will yield best results. Please use in enclosures with 80% glass and 20% screen coverage OR adequate access to consistent water / moisture. THIS PRODUCT TAKES 6-9 MONTHS FOR FULL EFFICACY.
We have new options for LOWGROW (only low-growing, carpeting moss species), AND combos with BryoBase!
This premium moss mix is a mixture of temperate and tropical mosses (mostly from tissue culture), and fern spores on hand. This is our new, moist paste mix, and is vacuum packed and compressed. It is the same as our wet moss mix, but lighter and more easily used. Minimum of 12 species per bag.
Option 1: Rehydrate: Empty internal package and all moss from the display case using a butter knife or other steel or hard object, into secondary bag and fill the secondary bag with water approximately 50-80%, or fill into a large bowl and strongly agitate. You’ll want to toss / paint the mixture into the background and wherever else you want moss to grow with a spoon, or other instrument.
Option 2: Use as Dehydrated paste / fragments: Empty internal package and all moss from the display case using a butter knife or other steel or hard object onto a plate or dish of your choice. Use GeoForm Sticky Soil Terrarium Putty with BryoBase or our amazing product from Poland - ShroomRoom TropicalClay with MossBase on it, and after spreading BryoBase or MossBase, press fragments firmly and thinly wherever you want moss to grow! This is our preferred method! MossBase or BryoBase will help ensure that the dehydrated fragments adhere and tack on to rock, foam, wood, and more!
You can also propagate this moss on a moist bed of processed Sphagnum moss, BryoBase, top soil, or GeoForm Clay, under LED lights. Pure spag moss may not be appropriate for all the different species of moss to grow and may conduct mold, so we recommend adding soils, leaves, and bark pieces, as well as live springtails, to the growout container for maximum results.
