BryoBase - Moss Adhesion Layer

Each unit can treat up to an 18x18x24 for light applications, such as a single panel background, some wood and stone, etc or a 12x12x18 for heavy application such as multiple background panels, and higher surface area amounts on wood and stone. 

FrogDaddy BryoBase is a hydrophilic moss adhesion layer designed to help moss spores, fragments, and dehydrated slurry mixes (like our BryoBrick!) esstablish on vertical and textured terrarium surfaces. Its moisture-retentive formula creates a tacky biological layer that improves spore contact, reduces runoff, and promotes even moss establishment across backgrounds made with SR TropicalClay, GeoForm Clay, cork bark, wood, stone, foam, Drylok, and other hardscape surfaces. It's magic! No longer do you have to fight constantly to grow moss on certain objects, worry about runoff, or give up on backgrounds not conducive to moss growth like Drylok or foam...now YOU hold the power!

BryoBase is ideal for creating lightweight moss walls, naturalistic living surfaces, and biologically active backgrounds in terrariums, vivariums, and paludariums. Its mud-like consistency spreads easily while remaining breathable and re-wettable, making it an excellent companion for moss propagation systems. The product is designed specifically for use underneath moss inoculants and moss blends rather than as a structural hardscape material. GeoForm Clay is to be used first, then Bryobase, then BryoBrick or BryoSpore.

Directions:

Add 1 cup of warm, but not hot, water to the bag of BryoBase powder and agitate aggressively. Allow mixture to hydrate for 1-2 minutes before use after agitating. Mixture should be between matte and glossy and slick, but pressable. You are aiming for thick toothpaste consistency. 

Apply a thin layer (only need 1-3mm) across where you intend to use BryoSpore, dehydrated BryoBrick, Vivarium Vine Vault, SR MossMix, or adjacent products.

Maintain consistent humidity during moss establishment and avoid heavy direct spraying immediately after application. We recommend 90% glass, 10% screen to achieve 85-95% humidity.
