Begonia nigritarum is a moderately growing species. This plant has stunning leaves that contrast bright to olive green with stunning silver margins that flash pink in high light! It does well in indirect light if grown in terrarium culture and moderate humidity. If grown outside, it needs shade to partial shade. Moist soil and sphagnum moss are helpful for rooting this species. Cuttings shipped bareroot with slightly moist Sphagnum moss in plastic. Rooted specimens ship in pot or bareroot / plug depending on conditions and location.
All of our cuttings have adventitious, aerial roots. Our rooted specimens will have at least a few active roots and will be established plants. Our plants are grown in high humidity in terrariums and greenhouses, therefore may need acclimation to the average home humidity / environment. Please contact us for acclimation information if you are not planning to use this plant in a terrarium, greenhouse, or humid room.
