Bring home three different Anubias for just $25 with the FrogDaddy Anubias Triple Combo - Grower's Choice. This package is designed for aquarists, vivarium keepers, and paludarium builders who want to add multiple durable tropical aroids to a display while letting our growers select an interesting combination from the Anubias currently available.

Each package contains three Anubias plants selected by FrogDaddy growers. Selections may include species, varieties, and cultivars such as Anubias barteri var. nana, Anubias barteri 'Mini Coin', Anubias barteri var. caladiifolia, Anubias gracilis, Anubias hastifolia, plants sold horticulturally as Anubias congensis, and other Anubias varieties available at the time your order is packed.

Whenever inventory allows, we aim to provide a useful mix of foliage shapes, sizes, or growth forms rather than three identical-looking plants. Exact varieties are grower's choice and are not guaranteed, allowing us to offer the package at the discounted $25 price while giving customers an opportunity to explore more of this remarkably diverse group of plants.

Anubias are members of the Araceae family native to tropical Africa, particularly the humid forests, streams, rivers, and riparian environments of West and Central Africa. Individual species have different distributions, so the specific native range of your plants will depend on which varieties are included in your package.

What unites the genus is its remarkable adaptation to wet tropical environments. Many Anubias inhabit stream margins, rocky waterways, exposed roots, and seasonally inundated forest where changing water levels can leave plants submerged during one period and growing above water during another. This amphibious ecology is exactly what makes Anubias so versatile in cultivation.

Anubias grow from a thick, creeping rhizome that produces both roots and leaves as it advances. The rhizome should remain exposed rather than being deeply buried in substrate. Roots can penetrate soil, moss, cracks in stone, or crevices in wood, but burying the entire rhizome in dense media can restrict oxygen exchange and eventually cause deterioration.

This makes Anubias exceptionally useful for hardscape planting. Plants can be attached to driftwood, cork bark, lava rock, river stone, and other textured surfaces, where their roots gradually anchor themselves naturally. Over time, an established Anubias can appear to have colonized the hardscape rather than simply having been placed there.

The three plants in this package may vary considerably in appearance. Compact forms such as A. barteri var. nana and 'Mini Coin' produce small, rounded foliage appropriate for detailed foreground planting, while species such as A. gracilis develop distinctive triangular leaves. Larger forms including A. hastifolia may eventually produce dramatic arrow-shaped foliage, while A. barteri var. caladiifolia is known for broad, substantial leaves.

That diversity makes the Triple Combo particularly useful for creating multiple layers of vegetation within the same enclosure. A smaller plant can be positioned along foreground hardscape while a medium or larger selection provides structure farther back in the display.

Anubias are also genuinely amphibious. The plants can be grown completely submerged in freshwater aquariums, positioned around the waterline of a paludarium, or maintained completely emersed in a humid tropical vivarium. Plants transitioning from underwater to aerial growth should initially receive high humidity while new foliage adapted to emersed conditions develops.

Lighting requirements are generally modest. Low to moderate aquarium lighting or moderate filtered vivarium lighting is sufficient for most Anubias. Their slow metabolism and deliberate growth mean that extremely intense illumination is rarely necessary.

Growth is characteristically slow but persistent. Rather than requiring constant pruning, established Anubias can remain incorporated into the same piece of hardscape for years. Individual leaves are typically thick and durable, and mature rhizomes gradually branch into increasingly substantial colonies.

In the Vivarium

The Anubias Triple Combo is particularly useful for paludariums, dart frog vivariums with wet areas, riparian terrariums, waterfall builds, aquariums, and tropical hardscape displays.

Use the plants around waterfall margins, streams, seep areas, moss-covered cork, driftwood, or stone. The roots appreciate dependable moisture, while the exposed rhizomes benefit from oxygen and gentle airflow. Moss can be allowed to establish around the roots and hardscape without completely covering the rhizome.

Because each package is selected from available inventory, the combination can also introduce customers to Anubias they may not have otherwise chosen individually. Some boxes may lean miniature, while others may contain a mixture of compact and larger-growing forms.

Each Anubias Triple Combo includes three grower's-choice Anubias for $25. Varieties depend on current FrogDaddy inventory and may vary from the examples listed above. Specific species, cultivars, sizes, or combinations cannot be guaranteed.

For anyone building a planted aquarium or naturalistic tropical enclosure, this package provides an economical way to experiment with one of the most durable and ecologically interesting groups of African aroids in cultivation.
