Begonia maurandiae 'Blue' is a rare, moderate to fast growing species that is a part of the Gobenia Section Begonias. It has dark green to blue-tinted leaves. The picture we have does not capture the beauty of this species. It does well in moderate, indirect light and high humidity, and does best for us in terrariums. It does not like water sitting on its leaves. Moist sphagnum moss are helpful for rooting this species. Give it some space to climb. This Begonia can fill in background areas nicely.
All of our cuttings have adventitious, aerial roots. Our rooted specimens will have at least a few active roots and will be established plants. Our plants are grown in high humidity in terrariums and greenhouses, therefore may need acclimation to the average home humidity / environment. Please contact us for acclimation information if you are not planning to use this plant in a terrarium, greenhouse, or humid room.
