Begonia cathayana is a moderately growing rhizomatous species from China. This plant has stunning leaves that contrast dark bluish-green with a unique turquoise / green ring around the middle of the leaf. It has small red trichomes, giving it a very unique coloration. It does well in indirect light if grown in terrarium culture and moderate to high humidity. Moist soil and sphagnum moss are helpful for rooting this species.
All of our cuttings have adventitious, aerial roots. Our rooted specimens will have at least a few active roots and will be established plants. Our plants are grown in high humidity in terrariums and greenhouses, therefore may need acclimation to the average home humidity / environment.
