The famous fruit fly media from Houston Frogs, reimagined and in jet black. This media is known for its high production, resistance to liquifying, and resistance to both mites and harmful fungi. Ensure you use boiling water, which will unlock nutrients in the media for the larva and will pasteurize it. Boiling water also kills harmful bacteria, mite eggs, and fungal spores, which could crash your cultures.
Directions for mixing are provided on label. Can be used with both Melanogaster and hydei fruit flies.
Use 1/4 cup powder to 1/3 cup or 1/2 water for melanogaster, or 1/3 cup powder to 1/2 to 2/3 cup water for hydei. Water amounts may vary depending on your environment, start with less water, then add more if it is too dry.
If using for melanogaster, this is the cheapest media around at less than 1$ per culture!
