Make way for one of the highest-yielding fruit flies on the market. A beautiful orange fly with high energy. This is a vestigial fly, so temperatures must remain below 80 degrees. These flies are classified as gliders but do not glide as far as Turkish gliders, and are generally less jumpy, but still have high energy.

Vestigial flies (flightless) have wings that carry more supplements to your animals! They also produce more biomass per unit than apterous flies.

Please read our DOA policies on flies under the information tab. This culture is producing active flies (12-14 days old) and will come pre-seeded with hundreds of flightless fruit flies packed in GreenFuel PRO Media or our new signature Citrus PRO Media, made specifically for Creamsicle melanogaster. Producing cultures should be thrown away 10 days after receipt. 

If you make your own cultures from producing cultures, you will want to seed 1 time from this culture and then set aside and use it for feeding only.

You can keep cultures in an enclosed bin with a small amount of ventilation with a heat pad on LOW to increase humidity and speed up breeding if you are in a dry, cool climate.

We recommend keeping vestigial flies under 75 degrees ambient.
