Phelsuma klemmeri - Yellow Headed Day Gecko

Phelsuma klemmeri (Neon Day Gecko) are from NW Madagascar (bamboo forests), and have beautiful coloration. These are prized for their beautiful, multicolored bodies. Below are a few facts and husbandry tips.
Adult size: 3–4 in (7–10 cm)
Lifespan: 6–10 yrs
Temperament: Fast, delicate, display species (minimal handling)
Activity: Diurnal, arboreal
Minimum tank size: 12×12×18″ (single) • 18×18×24″ (pair/group). Typically vertical, well-ventilated but humid tanks, with dense bamboo / thin branches for climbing & egg laying.
Substrate: ABG but we've used foam too.
Day ambient: 75–80 °F (24–27 °C)
Basking: 82–88 °F (28–31 °C)
Night drop: 68–72 °F (20–22 °C)
Humidity: 60–80 % with daily misting + drying period, but we go up to 90+% after rains.
UVB: Low–moderate (2–5 %) or Repashy Calcium Plus every feeding.
Primary Food: Fruit gecko diet (CGD) 2–3× weekly and melanogaster / hydei fruit flies
Breeding tips and common issues: Can be kept pairs or small colonies. Multiple egg deposition in bamboo nodes. Territorial males so monitor aggression. Can also escape as they're fast.
